WHAS GOOD!? ight so last night 1/2 of THE OPS and my homie J.BLAZE were at Different Fur Studios out in SF and decided to do a lil collabo. We was just chillin, vibin and wha not; overall a koo lil jam session. Decided to put it up on USTREAM, but didn’t know that the audio was clipping like a mufucka (stupid laptop mic)! All good, at least you can hear a lil somethin and get an idea of what we was tryna create!

R.I.P. Nujabes AKA Jun Seba
The music industry has loss yet another great producer/DJ. The announcement of Nujabes death was just yesterday, March 18th, but had died on Feb.26 from a car accident. I ain’t gonna lie, I’ve just recently started listening to Nujabes music a couple months ago, and it came to me as a shock to hear bout his death. His intrinsic way of sampling shiet with a complement of jazz was something that is beginning to become a part of a lost art form. It provided more than just a sonic escape, but an inspirational rhythm that helped me come up with shiet when I was in a rut. He’ll def live on through the music he has left us with.

Nump – “We Gon Make It”
There’s somethin bout Nump Trump that I can’t help but hold admiration towards. Dude been grindin even way before the hyphy shiet got crackin and with his willing determination, is able to still stay prominent in this game. He may not be that top rapper on most people’s list, but people gotta give him the credit for giving independents, like us, hope. Tracks like this one here are a good representation of what Nump can deliver. Keep doin yo shiet mang…and get at The Ops so we can get shiet crackin!!!!

This was one of those joints that bring you back. I fondly remember listening to this shiet way back in the day when I was young; they use to play this shiet all over the radio out here! Iono bout you, but I always felt that this song had that west coast vibe. Could be that funky ass bassline or could be coz it was made in prolly one of the most dopest eras of hip hop, ya dig? Enjoy.
